I got this from a seller that had found it in Afghanistan. Its .9 grams of gold 10mm in circumference. Any help would be appreciated.
I am not sure that this coin fits into the definition, even a broad one, of "ancient". From the script used I think more modern even than medieval. It may, or may not actually be from Afghanistan, or of solid gold. Perhaps posting it on the World Coins pages of Coin Talk would have this seen by collectors more in those areas of place and time and authenticity. I liked those brass calipers more than the coin.
Abd Allah bahadur Khan, shayabanid dynasty 1/4 gold mithqal. Similar to this one; https://www.dynastycollection.co.uk/portfolio-item/74-shaybanid-khans-of-transoxiana/#tab-id-2 The coinage had a vast variety of designs with different shaped cartouches.
