Bison Nickel Rolls and Mint Website

Has everyone noticed that the US Mint Website is still showing the expected shipping date for Bison Nickel P&D Rolls as 4/15/05. I have had a few sets backordered since 4/10/05. The 15th has come and gone, and I have still not received the product. Anyone with additional info on this would be appreciated. Why isn't the mint keep9ing the website up to date?

Because it's the mint!!!!

My backordered rolls are supposed to be shiped on 4/29. But that was before they changed the date to 4/15. Go figure. Sill waiting and the banks are running out.

The web site shows that my backordered set has been shipped as of yesterday (4/26) and I received an E-mail saying my credit card has been billed. So, it sounds like they're on their way but the main US Mint catalog web page still says that the rolls and bags of nickels are scheduled to ship on 4/15

I guess all I care about is that I get them....

 

mine now says expected to ship on 5/27

 

Looks like they changed the date to 5/27 just in time for the ocean nickel and a possible sell out of the bison.

The ocean view nickel isn't due out until August.

I pesonally don't mind it. Its the obverse thats ugly.

 

Guess I'm in the club. I just checked, and mine has gone from 4-29 to 4-15 to 5-27.

 

I honestly think thats BS. I'd send a complaint or two in.

 

I just wish that their web site reflected reality once in while. My order had the 4/15 date and then shipped 4/27. Who knows???

 

FWIW:

I placed an order 3-5-05, I forget what the expected ship date was, seems like the end of March.

I just got an email Tuesday saying they shipped, and giving a USPS tracking number.

Of course, as is the norm for the post office, the tracking number brings up nothing. I have never seen a USPS tracking number work.

I expect to get them Friday or Saturday.

 

USPS tracking number will not work until the item has been
delivered.

 

Thats because they don't track parcel post

 

I placed by order on 3/15 or so, and my ship date has been pushed back to 5/27.

 

The mint has been backlogged with the nickel orders since they released on 2/28 at noon. I ordered mine that day and it took almost an hour just to get into the site because of the demand. About 20 million nickels were sold in the first week. The ship date then was pushed back to the end of March. I am glad I ordered then and not waited.

 

Got some good news ! I checked on my order, and it's still 5-27 ! They haven't slipped the schedule to June or July yet !

 

Well I guess I'm one of the "lucky" ones...I got my order of bison P&D nickels in yesterday that had been backordered so I wasn't pushed back until 5/27 like a lot of people were.

This is just an FYI to everyone to let you know I got them. It sounds like very few orders were filled before they had to backorder the rest.

I can't tell you what they look like since I haven't opened the box.
