Mike Mezack and company have no problems getting plenty. It’s long overdue for the General Services Administration to pay the Mint a visit.
Because they buy them in the aftermarket for marked up prices. Anyone can do the same if they want to spend the money.
I love to read the horror stories! I'm one of those members who NEVER ORDERS ANYTHING from the mint unless the item goes for a 500% profit. Sometimes I win sometimes I lose. One thing I never do is COMPLAIN that I lost the "free" lotto! I too got to complete my order - it was processing when the screen went to "refresh." The directions said not to go back and not to refresh the page. So I did not. I don't know if I got anything or not and it is out of my hands. Now I shall continue to read all the whining. BTW, the ONLY collectors I feel for are those who HAVE BEEN assembling complete sets for years and need these two issues. The rest of us "flippers" will need to wait for the next chance at a "GIFT" from the Mint.
Update: My son was able to log into MY account and order one for me. How, I do not know. He had already gotten one for himself, amazingly enough. I used my Safari, then tried Chrome and Firefox, no go -- I was banned. I did have to give him a different credit card # (saw someone said to try a diff card number on here) and then it went through for him. Insane. Pretty sure this will still be my last time as a US Mint customer. This was a ridiculous debacle they could have avoided by just adding bandwidth. Such a stupid temporary solution to a bandwidth issue.
I went through all the same trials and tribulations of everyone here on the gold coin. I did make it to the final PLACE ORDER screen though. When it said don't refresh or hit enter again I figured I was 'golden'. No such luck. Went to the oops screen instead of the confirmation screen. By the time I went back to try again it was Unavailable. AAARRRRHHHH the frustration. My parting gift was that I was able to secure a silver privy. Small win I guess.
It is more than a bandwidth issue. The entire website is a Rube Goldberg contraption . . . from start to finish. Gross incompetency. Unless it was designed by a sadist whose goal was to frustrate and anger as many people as possible, in which case . . . job well done!
it's gotten easier and I'm not blocked and silver is still available. I just got it done, and I was blocked on 4 devices. it's smoothing out now.
Got a Silver , but it was a challenge It say processing more details in 24 hours so I will not celeberate until I have the coin in hand

Did you get the '95? OzGirl, posted: "Update: My son was able to log into MY account and order one for me. How, I do not know. He had already gotten one for himself, amazingly enough. I cannot believe you won't try to order one of these "Limited Mintage Gifts" again in the future.
I don't sell coins from my collection. I keep them. Life is life, and I probably don't need ANY coins, it's just something I happen to enjoy. That's great my son was able to get me one, but I'm not thrilled with the US Mint website (never have been) and not buying anything from them going forward will eliminate the non-enjoyment from coin collecting. There's more to life than American Eagles, LOL.
