Thinking I should get a punch made up and privy-mark a bunch of normal Eagles.
You know, then they would all end up like Dr. Seuss's Sneeches.

    (I'm just kidding...)

Looks like the Mint is getting on top of things this time -- they started crashing ten minutes before the new stuff went on sale at noon!

No luck this time. :( By the time I got through checkout, they were gone.

bullionexchange was doing another "we'll pay you to get this for us" deal. Picked up a silver, but what a bear. They were offering $300 for your roughly $100 purchase (price + quick shipping); same as before, don't open the box.... Heck I probably wouldn't have bothered getting one if they hadn't sent the email. I have no intention of doing their deal (but appreciated the heads up).

It took 28 minutes to buy the coin. The entire process is beyond ridiculous. The US Mint has created its own mess.

I got one, my brother was able to get one for his collection and my dad as well. It took a good 20 minutes or so after the item got in the cart to check out.

What an absolute CLOWN SHOW at the US Mint website on SO many different levels. Must bite tongue to avoid political content about putting our incoimpetent government in charge of various things . . .

It is truly mind blowing, though, that they can continue to be this incompetent. No one gets fired. No competition, so there ya go.

Anyone else getting sent to a captha site for verification before getting on the page and then getting rate limit temporary banned for trying to refresh? I have one in cart but it bans me from the site when I go to check out...didn't have this problem with the 2019 W ERP Eagle

Meh, they sold 1945 $2600 items in less than 6 minutes. It was a rousing success from their viewpoint. Why would anyone get fired?

I had a gold one in the cart but by the time I fumbled my way through the checkout, they were gone.

Went back and got a silver one in the cart but decided I didn't want to pay $86 for it so I left.

Didn't really want either (I would have flipped the gold) but love a good snipe hunt :nailbiting:

Honestly, even though their site is garbage when there's a lot of traffic there's really only a lot of traffic on 1-2 products a year. The rest of the time their site is more than fine for what they need it to be. While it's frustrating and no one wants to hear it, it would be more incompetent for them to spend a bunch of money upgrading the site to handle a high volume that they would only need for 10 minutes a year

Do not agree. No private business that I have ever seen has a website this messed up. It seems like it was designed by a lobotomized monkey.

There are plenty of other options than funneling thousands of people to a crap website. A lottery system, outsource to a better third party site that can handle the volume, or even just don't sell extremely limited coins online that will surely create problems and resentment for the mint. The added limit block was just a slap in the face to those who keep getting the refresh page...I'm sure that was intended to limit traffic, but it just unnecessarily pissed me and others off.
