Howdy folks, Found myself interested in some early 20th century US paper money and am looking for suggestions about which book(s) to pick up. I'm looking for something akin to my trusty Red Book for coins, but exploring paper money. I'm not super concerned with price guides, moreso to learn of the differences in US paper money over time. Photos are a must; for example, I enjoy how my US coin Red Book highlights some differences and has photos for some double dies, varieties, errors, etc. Based on a quick search, seems these two might be the closest thing to what I'm looking for: A Guide Book of United States Paper Money 7th Edition by Arthur L. Friedberg Guidebook of United States Currency 8th Edition by Kenneth Bressett Thoughts? Which of these would you recommend for a complete novice interested in US paper money? Thanks!

I primarily collect small-size notes but have interests in all US currency. If told I could choose only one book for everything, it would be the Whitman Encyclopedia of US Paper Money by Q.David Bowers.
