I just took 4 coffee cans full of change to the bank. They will run it through their change machine and deposit it to my account for no fee. I started to roll it myself and then decided to call the bank.

I hate to pay the fee at wherever the coin machine is. Good luck.

Now the bank did say it might take a few days. They do those things as time permits. They have my account number and my trust.

If you use the coin star at walmart you can redeem for a walmart or I believe an amazon card for no fee.

Funny enough, I was just having this conversation with my dad the other day. I was telling him that he can take uncounted bags of change to the bank and deposit them into his account hassle free. The caveat being that not all bank locations have the coin counting machine on-site; some have to send the coins away to be counted - resulting in a 2-3 day before funds appear in your account. My dad told me about CoinStar machines depositing 100% of your funds on an Amazon gift card. He confirmed that if you want cash, the CoinStar will of course take a percentage; but not Amazon gift cards. Thought that was awesome to know!

It's funny some banks will charge a fee for large amounts of coins when there is an alleged coin shortage out there.

I don't think they can charge you a fee if you have an account with them. All you're doing is depositing money into your account - if the bank takes a fee for depositing into your account, find a new bank.

I roll them and trade them out for new ones to search through. Never had a problem, not even lately.
