Interesting shield! Any idea about it's history?

 

No I figured someone here would know. I found the "tiger pattern "1893" cent just about a couple inches below it .

 

One of my favorites. Found in change when I was young.

Here ya go .It measures 3"x3 3/4" . I did notice with my loupe that there are possibly tiny hole around the border like it was nailed to something .

 

Decoration for something. Box or a post? Pretty cool looking.

 

I was thinking some kind of furniture item .

Here is one of my favorites. 1859 with shield reverse. The 1859 J-228 in Proof. Very Rare Few Known. The 1859 J-228 in Mint State is a R-1 rarity. The Proof is a R-7 rarity.
