He must be an expert to be listed!! Congrats to him!:D I was once mentioned in a well known Human Anatomy and Physiology textbook preface and I felt very rewarded so I know your feeling.

I am saddened that the new edition exposed a coin I have been actively accumulating over the past couple of years by saying prices have increased by x10 due to fewer being found:crying: Now I will have more competition for them. :( Wish it would have waited another year or 2.

That's an amazing feat. Congrats TreasureHunt,

Now, if Clembo was no so modest, he is also in the credits of a paper money book, but darn me, I cannot remember which one.

I have been told that the 82 DDR Lincoln is listed but not if credit was given for the discovery. Just curious, could you check for me, PLEEEEEESE?

    Thanks

"if ever there was a prime example a significant new variety can still be discovered, check this out. This variety was discovered in the summer of 2007, 25 years after production!"

The statement above doesn't make alot of sense but.. Thats what it says.

    AU50 is listed at 15.00
    MS60 at 25.00
    MS63 at 50.00
    MS65 at 95.00

Are you sure it's that doubled die reverse?

$27 - I know folks who would have paid $2700 for a gem one of these - please check to be sure you are talking about the same coin - from talking to Crawford there has only been about a half dozen found if that many - please check your coin.
Also the sentence makes perfect sense - what was confusing about it???

    Ben:
No, the prices above are correct.

There must be another variety that is not in this edition.

Coneca and Coppercoins list only one 1982 ddr, mine.
As to how many have been found the current population stands at 2.
As for the prices in the book, none have been sold and therefor there is no basis for the prices, coppercoins estimates these will sell for $1000 plus in higher grades. For a while there was a standing offer on my coin of $2000 but I wasn't interested in selling it.

I had hoped they would give credit for the discovery since every mention of the coin has given me the discovery credit, including Coppercoins and Coneca web sites.

    Richard (Ziggy),

That is VERY cool that you discovered a rare variety. I think you should be credited in the CPG for finding it. Have you discussed this with Bill Fivaz? If not remind me in June and I will mention it to him at ANA Summer Seminar (assuming he comes).

I got my copy of CPG Vol I 5th Edition a couple of weeks ago. I have only flipped through it so far but it looks like they added a fair amount of stuff.

    Richard:
    I know how you feel.
The 1909 S (Inverted S) Barber Half was discovered by someone that I know very well.
And it was listed in Coin World as such, yet CPG never gave credit.

Perhaps 'cause I didn't pay them to 'authenticate' it?
