    Hi,

Recently I got ahold of an interesting 50 cent chinese Szechuan coin from 1912. However I barely could find some similar coins on the internet. Seems that the majority of those 50 cent coins have the writing on the bottom 甬五 when mine has 甬伍. Don't know if that is a mistake or there were such coins indeed. The only match i found is located here. Would really appreciate if somebody could give me a bit of insight. I'm wondering if that's a real coin or just a replica.

    Coin diameter: 33mm
    Weight: 12-13 grams
    Does attract to magnet

    Regards,
    Dan

Don’t know about the coin, but the two forms of “5” are interchangeable. The one with the strokes in the left are usually used for financial transactions and money, the one without the left radical is more for common use

If it attracts to a magnet, it's fake. The coin in question is supposed to be silver.

Yes, it attracts to the magnet, so it's definitely not silver.
