Actually this was my first one but it was in a box from 2012 that I just opened. I have a number of unopened boxes from 2012 to 2016 that I never opened. That comes from working too many hours a day. But the extra money I earned sure bought a lot of coins. I think it's better than the one I bought earlier this year. It's the 1857 Flying Eagle Cent with a die clash from a Seated Liberty Half Dollar. You can see the clash in several places on the obverse.
What?.. Is that even possible? Are there any others known with that type of clash? And I ask because I really want to know about it.

The 1857 FE can be found with clash marks from the quarter, half and the $20 gold piece. The Cherrypickers Guide has them listed.
Collecting Nut, This is like every bigfoot sighting look man, I we really need some better pictures than this! it's like you left the sugar out of the Kool-aid!
Yes it's possible my friend. Here are 2 web links that hopefully explain this better than I ever could. Just look at AMERICA. That line going through it is the best clash mark for this coin. If you look at my poor photos closer you can see some of the other clash marks. http://www.maddieclashes.com/1857-f...7-seated-liberty-half-dollar-mudc-1c-1857-02/ https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1857-1c-obv-die-clash-20-fs-403-s-7-004/37376#sectionCensus Hope these help you.
I purchased this as a VF-20, which I think is very close to the actual grade. As I stated earlier, it was purchased years ago. Normal I don't say but in this case I don't mind, I paid under $50.00 for it. Due to the differences in the coins on the clash it is a well know but considered a scarce variety. I'm not sure how many are really known.
Photos 2, 4 and 5 show it best. Photo #2 you can see a straight line above the Eagles head up to the wing. Photo 4 shows in the word AMERICA very clearly and the last photo shows just above the wing. Sorry but it was the best I could get on this coin.
