I'm not trying to be rude but I sometimes wonder why anyone would seriously think a coin came out of the US Mint looking like that. It's what is referred to as a "Parking Lot" coin. It's not an error coin. It's badly damaged.

I call it.. DEFDAM - Definitely Damaged :yack:

It is just PMD - Post Mint Damage. That is not a Mis struck Cent.

It's only worth 1 Cent but a store might not take it. It will even get rejected by a Coinstar machine.

Any coin that looks remotely similar to that has probably been run over by a car, stepped on, or eroded in the middle of the street or parking lot

    It's a damaged 1999 cent. Spend it.

It and 99 more might get you a cup of coffee.

I have an old cup that I keep coins like that. I must have a hundred or more. I usually get them from a store where the cashier is trying to get rid of them.

Kc, you've been a member for over a year now, so my question is, "What do you see?" Just tell us straight forward what you are seeing that might lead you to believe it is a mint error.

I find them like that all the time when my wife and I go for our evening walk. Not that long ago, I found a 2020-D with that amount of damage but full blazing mint luster! Spend it quickly!
