The coin took some hits and the copper plating was damaged. No the zinc underneath is starting to corrode. The raised spots on the Lincoln Memorial are also zinc rot.
Welcome to CT. Might I make a suggestion? I think I hear a, Yes, so here it is. When publishing a post such as yours, crop out all of the background. Neutral backgrounds are best as some background will always be present, unless you go to https://www.remove.bg and make the background grey or white. This will remove backgrounds that can distract from the coin. Be specific in your question and show closeups of areas you question. If you have done your due diligence and tried to match your coin with error coins on other sites, list those so we don't have to "reinvent the wheel" so to speak. Please remember that members here do this for free and their time is just as valuable as yours. Good luck.
@Mkodo ...go to doubleddie.com and read the various articles there, especially How Dies Are Made. Afterward you will refrain from posting a worn wheat ear with a gouge that has corrosion growing in it because you (hopefully) will then know better. It will make you a better collector and save you hundreds, if not thousands, of hours by not focussing on damaged (PMD) coins...jmho...Spark
