I find it hard to believe that not one single smooth error or double edge lettering has been found in the 2007 Thomas Jefferson presidential coin ,so if you know of anyone who has found such a coin or if you heard anything please let me know Thank You
Since I don't actively pursue the collecting of modern coins, the only way I'll get any of the presidential dollars is through normal daily transactions. My score so far: Washingtons = 0 Adams = 0 Jeffersons = 0 My wife got some of the Adams dollars somewhere, so I actually have about 6. But I personally haven't gotten any.
Keep them? They just added a bunch more. Starting in 2009 the Sac dollar will have the same edge inscriptions as the President dollars do.
I don't know if it's an error or not yet, as I have only seen 2 Jefferson coins yet, but the edge writing is upside down on one of them. That is, if the coin is laying flat on a table, with the obverse up, on 1 coin the writing is right-side-up, and the other coin, laying in the same position, the writing is upside down. Is that common? I haven't really looked at many dollar coins yet. Thanks for the input.
Honestly, I forget to look at the edge lettering on the presidential dollars. From the way it sounds, I'd have ZERO error coins either way. I did find a 1984 Lincoln penny doubled-die a couple months back, however!
