Awe!! I was so excited about this one.. but I know if you or Mountain Man tell me, then I don't have to 2cd guess.. TY
Candice, you know I'm rooting for you, but I'm disappointed you had to even ask on this coin. You can see the displaced metal from the damage, proving it is just PMD. And I don't consider myself an expert on anything and I'm always learning something new from this forum, just like you.
Yes I saw the displaced metal.. but I also saw rim issues and quite a bit of other stuff.. I didn't go into detail about it all because it makes people mad when I write a long post.. this coin is special, wait and see.. Thanks
You are to modest.. you are an expert to me because you explain it where I can understand.. you have earned the complement my friend.. but you are absolutely correct for calling me out about the displaced metal.. See, I pay attention
Your coin was in a hard fight and lost. The "D" you mention is is part of the overall damage. Keep looking, you will find the genuine article eventually,
Rim errors and all?? Even the 2 little letters on Lincoln's collar?? I really need some kind of app to magnify.. I actually write a whole page on every coin by hand.. every light or weak strike letter.. every hint of doubling.. punched or filled in mintmark.. I wrote a page and a half on this coin.. lol.. my personal little coin journal..
Oh, I'm sorry expat.. I'm bad yall.. I didn't know I could find an article on the exact same coin with every single error.. Jeez, I feel dumb.. Thanks
LOL, by genuine article I meant a coin that is a real error or variety, not a written article. And, yes, I saw the "letters" on his collar, damage marks also.
