The Best Investment in 2021: Gold/Silver or CC Morgan?

Hello Group,
I'm considering a $3K purchase sometime early next year & am leaning towards adding a nice PL CC Morgan MS63-65, or perhaps an Au Peruvian 100 Soles. I prefer buying a coin that is something I like both aesthetically & a good investment. (I don't believe they have to be mutually exclusive of one another.)
In the past I've purchased key U.S. coins that have have either lost value or been stagnant, whereas the gold I bought has increased almost 100% in value.
Suggestions from both the learned & unlearned CT members always welcome,

Somebody said this in another thread and I'm going to quote them... Coins are purely a hobby... investing in coins isn't always the best thing to invest in... That was my opinion but I feel like if you were to invest, gold would be the best option

 

I think you answered your own question. If it were me, I would probably go for an ancient aureus coin.

 

You can get a pretty spectacular CC DMPL.... and still have $2400 left over

 

Coins are not an investment. They are a hobby.

 

IMO Collecting stamps is more of a 'Hobby' whereas collecting coins may be both,
a Hobby & an Investment

Stamp collecting is a hobby that loses money faster than coin collecting.
