I've noticed there is a paucity of 5 centavos coins minted in this era. In my (limited) understanding of Mexicao's history there wasn't too much turmoil at this time. Why is there this void in dates? Thanks.

Do you refer to the coin: V CENTAVOS 1882 KM # 399 ?

Not specifically. I have a few 5 centavos pieces and noticed I had none from 1883 or 1884. In the catalog I have there were no 5 centavos pieces listed for these dates either. I was curious why this was? I have other coins minted in mexico between these dates.

I checked out that coin you mentioned. Maybe I just misunderstood my catalog. My collection only consists of the km#400 5 Centavos (1898-1905) and older 5 centavos pieces (1871-1882). I just didn't notice the die change for those years.

    Thanks,
    David
