In looking at bank rolls of uncirculated 2020 Salt River Bay quarters, I have found hundreds of quarters which contain areas that lack the luster of the remainder of the coin. I would appreciate comments as to the origin of the many streaks, splotches, and spots that appear on these quarters which came from bank rolls filled with nothing but uncirculated Salt River Bay Quarters. Photos of a few of these are attached. Thank you!
Please keep in mind that bank rolls do not guarantee how the coins were stored and/or processed by the middle-man company before they reached the bank.
There’s no telling how they were stored/ handled. The Salt River 2020-P doubled die -001 was posted here (on CT) and attributed by VV. http://varietyvista.com/09e WQ Vol 5 ATB/2020PVIDDO001 quarter.htm You might want to look at yours.
Thank you for the replies - including the humor of you, paddyman98! Since my grandchildren and I are relative novices in looking at coins, issues of storage and handling are not familiar to me. From the replies, I assume that no mint issues are involved regarding the photos attached to my original post. Again, thank you, All!
Not on this one. I have seen many like this also. They also get a similar appearance if you freeze them deep enough. I guess that is Maine weather.
