The Auction XX catalog is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful reference. This massive tome will be top shelf in my catalogs section.

I have one bid in this auction, £100 over estimate, with virtually no expectation of success.

Because of the desirability of the lots in this auction, I expect the floor action to be quite intense.

Remember, we are in a very low interest rate environment. That has fueled much of the stock market rally. Money is out there looking for a place to park itself, and rare coins are a prime spot.

I will be following the auction with much anticipation but most probably I'll get blown away on all my targets.
Looking forward to witnessning history when lot 463 comes around :snaphappy:

The day has arrived! Get your popcorn ready! Somebody was going to organise a watch party in the ancient coins facebook group, but we might as well use this thread to post our reactions. It is a 2-day auction anyway and there going to be plenty Oooh Ahh moments I think! :jawdrop: Good luck to those of you that are brave enough to bid on those gems :cigar:

It almost hurts the soul watching this auction knowing I can’t afford a single coin! Why do we torture ourselves like this? Haha :drowning:

On the Greek side , not amazing prices except lot 59 190K realised for 30K estimate (that was way too low of course)
and a surprising "disappointing result" for the famous tetradrachm of Naxos (240K) but also for the tetradrachm of Rhegion lot 37 and some others.
all in all i would say not a so hot auction for the moment...

I've noticed some of the hammers aren't as high as I thought some may be. Maybe I'll have luck on my lots!

It also seems they are having significant trouble with their bid live platform.
