Hey guy's, I have a very untrained eye and the coin isn't in very good shape at all, but can anyone identify this from the pictures? Nabataean Bronze coin of Petra, Shawilat 40-70 AD? Thanks!
Why lie, I don't know the series well enough to identify the ruler, but have a few of them, and it's definitely Nabataean (right, with Petra as the capital). The reverse is a dead giveaway, with the conjoined, semicircular cornucopia-looking things, and the Semitic writing above. Without anything in the way of a reference in print, the motif always looked as if it was imitating some of the Hasmonean /Maccabean AE lepta of around the 2nd c. BCE. ...But here's a likely candidate: https://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=162100
