Welcome to CT. A cud would involve the rim and spread into the field. It looks from your pics like it has been struck by the reeded edge of another coin

This is damage from another reeded edge coin, seems to be another quarter.

Rule of thumb- if there is raised metal around the impact, it is post-mint damage.

No cud here, a cud involves the rim and is much more obvious.

Hope I helped, and welcome to our forum!

  6. It is raised on the round parts like a die crack would be if that makes sense so whats that mean then

Yeah... contact marks possibly from another quarter but a dime is just as possible

Post mint damage is what your coin is called

  9. And all I meant by saying it lookes like cud is it is raised but only on the round edge part the rest is like an indent..

It doesn't look like a hit from the reeded edge of another coin. They are spaced too far apart.

The quarter was struck by another quarter leaving those "contact marks". It's a form of damage. Nice cud on the Cent. Welcome to CT.

The cud on the cent looks more like glue. It is very shiny. And transparent.

  21. I have it in a coin flip hence the shiny its cud on both front and back its not glue i had it under a microscope and everything and tried scratching it off
