How much did you get outbid by? I was thinking about it but I don't need the coin even thought its a $20-$30 coin which was sold for less than half of that
Oh I frequent it, believe me plenty of good stuff to be found among the trash, just takes a lot more hunting and checking then other sites
Just courious if you try to get the best deal or if you will bid alittle high to try to win auction if you really like the coin? The indian head and Buffalo are my favorite u.s coins next to morgan and peace dollars. I always bid alittle high if I like the coin because some of these fast finger guys will jump in at last second trying to snatch em up.
Always try to get the best deal...that's a given. I usually throw a few bucks on the listing to put it in a folder that I can find later. Usually have 60+ items on the watch list and half as many on the bidder list. If there is something I really want I'll be there at auction end with a solid bid, doesn't always get the job done BUT I take solace in helping someone else spend their money On this particular auction I looked at the crappy picture and figured in good condition the 1894 cent was worth a look for a few bucks.
I've won some auctions by less than a dollar and lost some the same way. It does hurt when it's a super rare coin that you really wanted.
