Every letter on both sides, the mint mark, the whole date, and the tree all have what looks like doubling!
I will post a picture of the whole coin both sides as soon as I get home. I’m heading there from work now.
It is doubling but there are two types /true doubling and DDD which is die doubling deterioration=worhtless doubling.
I was looking into the DDD to get other pictures of die deterioration it’s usually just one side that I’ve seen. both the obverse and reverse are like this. I need a better camera to show what i am seeing in my coin magnifier, it does not look like DDD but I’m no expert So I don’t know just think it’s cool. Love finding stuff like this.
Unfortunately your coin suffers from DDD and MD. Doubled die is unique to a particular die, obverse or reverse die. A coin that has a doubled die obverse and doubled die reverse is rare. The raised devices appear to be DDD and the incused devices are MD. http://www.error-ref.com/die-deterioration-doubling http://www.error-ref.com/?s=Incused+machine+doubling+ Edit: spelling.
