Here are my latest significant acquisitions: Hungary (Austrian Occupation Type) 1855B AR 20 Kreuzer NGC MS61 PL KM-2211 (1852-1856) A Franz Joseph type for my prooflike set. I have an example of this date in gem, and I have an 1852 example that is about semi-prooflike, but I've never seen one that is prooflike. Low MS, but I find prooflikes generally have eye appeal in hand about 2 steps higher than their grade. Austria 1883 Copper-Nickel Token German Numismatists Society Visit to the Vienna Mint (1883) Wurzbach 9367 This wasn't on my radar at all, but I found the design and subject matter to be very compelling. Hungary 1978 Bronze Medal 96mm Uniface The Holy Crown Returns Home to Hungary (1978) This medal commemorates the return of the Crown of St. Stephen to Hungary by the Carter administration in 1978. Hungary AR 100 Forint (Buda and Pest Union Centennial) Pattern (1972) EME10 Próbaveret (Decorative Reverse) This is an earlier unreleased version of this Hungarian non-circulating commemorative. The reverse (shown on the left here) was redesigned for the eventually released version. Hungary 1992BP Nickel-Brass 1 Forint Pattern (1992) of KM-692 Próbaveret (Plain Edge Proof) The plain edge proof version of the 1 forint pattern when the coinage changed in 1992. This completes my set of the 4 1 forint pattern types of 1992. Hungary AR 200 Forint (Deák Ferenc) Pattern (1994) of KM-707 Próbaveret (Proof) A proof pattern version of the 200 forint coin released in 1994. Hungary Copper-Nickel-Zinc 100 Forint F.A.O. Pattern (1995) EME41 Próbaveret (Proof) This is an unreleased proof version of a pattern for a proposed FAO circulating commemorative intended to be released in 1995. This completes my set of the 4 unreleased Hungarian FAO patterns.
Maybe not my newest acquisition of coins, but newly acquired skill with cropping, layout, and rotation editor app.
A little extra in a horse trade with Rob. A matched pair of 1891 Canadian half dimes. Soon to be made into a pair of ear rings for the mrs.
Another Napoleonic Italy 1 centesimo - 1810 from the Venice mint with an unrecorded overdate 1/0 (very obvious in hand but not on the scan )
My first gold purchase! I'd say it's a slippery slope from here but my wallet thinks otherwise haha. Really happy with this one. Well worth the investment imo. Will be a great piece in my collection for a long time to come.
Here is a purchase en route from Germany. I have a feeling it will look better than the pictures based on the sellers description. Obverse: Bust right Reverse: Crowned eagle with I on breast, date divided above Ruler: Georg Friedrich II Notes: Wilmersdörffer 929, Slg. Grüber 4348 Composition: Silver Weight: .66g
Today, in impulse bids: Saw this one about a minute before it ended, thought the wood grain (maybe zebra stripes are a better description on this particular coin) was super cool, and threw down a bid without doing any research. Turned out that I paid a reasonable price, and the coin ended up looking better in hand than the auction pics, to boot.
Another Italian Napoleonic piece - 1814 15 soldi from the Milan mint. An odd denomination at 75 cents which is probably why it didn't last very long
This 5 and 10 Euro San Marino 2002, first year Euro set just cleared customs, and it is on its way here.
Just got a few grades in from PCGS. Might not be exciting to everyone. I am running through the clad issues for my registry set but I am happy with the grades I got, namely no details grades. The other really exciting one is the 1966 10 Shilling. Very happy with the resulting grade. MS65 MS65 MS66 MS66 PR66CAM
Very impressive set, surprisingly difficult in high grades, as a result all my irish coins are in lower grades
Another recent pick up I just got images of. Few smudges on the holder but otherwise stunning coin. PCGS AU55. Took some fighting at auction to get it haha. Hope y'all enjoy.
