Okay I hit the NYC Coin show today, I was only there for about an hour or so. #1: IMPORTANT: $10 admission unless you stop at their web site, I'll add link below, and print out a $5 discount coupon. [add web site]. So, some outstanding stuff there. As I remember it is all on the 19th floor, but: Be sure to hit all areas. After registration, walk straight ahead, two rooms, one on right, one straight ahead. Then as you walk out, past registration, one to the left: for supplies, and other stuff. Also, one to the right: Note: PCGS & NGC are there, be sure to ask for any info, I aslo got a samlpe slab from each: PCGS: 2005 Buffalo 5 Cent; NGC: an NCS: 1870 Ceylon 1/2 c, marked genuine and "SAmple". Also, I got a slab box from NGC, and PCGS gave out some literature. PCGS has some boxes, but they won't begiven out until the end of the show on Sunday, unless you beg & plead. (It didn't work for me.) I also got a couple of auction catalogues, and one for currency, all at no charge, but the currency one ya had to fill out a form with your name & address, etc. The Currency auction was from H.R. Harmer, and is 550 pages! (heavy, bring a valise to carry all of your stuff.) Also: Munismatic News & Coin World there, right after the registration. Many handouts, magazines & newspapers. Have Fun!
Viper: Well the show was pretyy much exclusive for ancients & foreign, so I bought: Nada. Nil. Zip. Not a darn thing. However, I went there to see Charlie Davis, a book dealer, who specializes in old and antiquarian books on numismatics. He is doing an auction at the show. If you get a chance, you should stop at his display. Great stuff. Oh, and we discussed my book, he was a contributor.
