Yes, paper rolls are still used by some of the armored car companies and some of the banks. But many have switched to shrink wrap.

Well they contain paper dust, all paper products do. And it is likely they also contain sulphur as almost all paper contains sulphur. But it seems your real question Spider is if the coins will remain in original condition if left in the rolls. That's doubtful. Rolls are not airtight or moisture proof. Therefore the coins can tone. That doesn't mean they will, although it is likely - just that they can. The only way to be certain that any coin will remain exactly as it is when you receive it is to place it in a container that is airtight. AIR, all by itself will cause coins to tone.
sulphur thats it, ty GD for the info, if i rolled them up and put them into a tube would that help or would the sulphur damage it over time?
Removing the coins from the roll and placing them is a tube would be better for preserving their appearance & present condition. But you still have to properly strore them - keep them in a cool, dark & dry environment. But if these are original rolls - it will likely affect the value by doing so. For there are many who will pay more for original rolls. Kind of a rock and a hard place situation isn't it ?

Now I don't know but I sure don't think they have PVC...I have had coins in that type of rolls for a long time now and see no sign of PVC. Speedy
