If you are trying to nail down the date 100 % positively for your own curiosity I could understand. If you are trying to nail it down for its numismatic value ,I don't think you'll get far. For one thing it is damaged beyond the point of accurately discerning the date. Then there is the general condition of the coin. Not what buyers are looking for. I don't see the V D B either. It is still worth one cent though. Keep up the search though and good luck...martha
If I remember correctly, the last time you posted this coin, some of the experts on that thread told you to go to, either, go to your LCS to have your theory confirmed, or just go ahead and send it into a grading service and let them determine if it is truly a 1909 S VDB. I would suggest doing this and then posting the results. Because, apparently, no one here is buying what you are selling. Good Luck.
send it into a grading company and see what they say that way you have an idea of what you have or don't have and that way the experts have given their opinions then go from there
A lot of you guys are starting to make me lose faith in "expert" opinions, but hopefully ya'll aren't experts lol. Is there an "A" in "STATE"? Or is there a "T" at the end of "TRUST"? You do understand coin devices can wear down, especially when they're weakly struck, right? Anyway, as I said to you trolls (at least I hope you're trolling) the original post wasn't about it being a VDB or not, maybe you should re-read it
I reread your original post. Claimed to be VDB, 1909. If memory serves, the designer’s initials were put on Lincoln’s shoulder around 1918 as yours shows
@Fred Weinberg made a generous offer. Why are you not taking it? The answer is obvious to us. You know the coin is not an 09, but you wish to pick and choose words in your posts, then argue the point ad nauseum. You do realize you are the joke of CT?
The mintmark doesn't correspond to the 4 known positions https://www.pcgs.com/news/counterfeit-vs-authentic-1909-s-vdb-lincoln-cents
Not again. Oh my, I just wasted my time reading this post. Take Fred, who is a WELL KNOWN expert, up on his offer and get off this coin.
A person that slowly drags a baited hook in hopes of catching something, which pretty much describes this post.
