    Off what , lol. I see a normal 1 cent . Maybe it's me. Sorry. been studying a coin for the last half hour.

    Yes, the first 9 has a thin tail, and the second 9 looks to have a doubled tail. The doubling could just be reflective glare but idk about the thin tail...I’m sure someone will chime in with some better info. I don’t think it is die deterioration...Spark

    If you are comparing a 1968 cent to a 1969 cent there is a big difference due to the mint using a new master die in 1969.
