Nice and I find it lucky to find a 1963 silver dime in a roll recently also my first silver coin c.r.h but yours is ×2 harder/better than my find.
Excellent find! I've never gotten a Merc out of circulation or bank rolls- ever- in 44 years of collecting.
There are a few still out there but very unusual to find in a roll of cents. Most machines use diameter to count. It should have been off sorted.
I found a hoard of 60 silver dimes once. about 30 merc and 30 roosevelt. It was the best day at work I ever had.
It was most likely a customer-wrapped roll than a machine or bank-wrapped roll. Customer-wrapped rolls tend to yield the most surprises and it is common to find dimes in them every now and then. And in point of fact while it is on the rare side, I have found dimes in machine-wrapped rolls of cents and cents or dimes in machine-wrapped rolls of nickels. Coins from such rolls go through a filtration process but on occasion other denominations slip through and get rolled up into them.
Not a bad find @Bryan Dillard. I actually found my first silver quarter roll hunting in a customer-wrapped roll shortly before the whole COVID-19 mess.
Yes it was in a customer wrapped roll I got $5.00 worth of pennies. This was definately the best find but I did find 2 modern roosevelt's 5 canadians and 17 wheaties
