Some nice looking coins, for the price. Not sure you made any money on the buy. Check them for VAM's

For a bullion investment might be ok in the long run. But rolling common dates been going on since there was coin rolls

I came up with 57.20 per coin give or take a cent.. I am kind of cheap so I figure in shipping when purchasing coins and selling which I have not sold one ever.

I agree. Shipping is definitely an acquisition cost, and I track it in my collection database as part of the cost.

I was noting that mine cost me less than $56, and that I might be happy with several of these, that's it.

I add shipping to the amount I paid in my spreadsheets; just like the sticker price on a new car, transportation is part of the cost.

Garlicus Debt is dumb, cash is king.

Not sure. The bidding was around $800 last I saw it, I think. The same company is selling one like that for around $1,500. Canyon City Coin?

I do not purchase rolls but I believe you are one of the fortunate ones that broke even or even a bit better in my opinion. Be very cautious when bidding on rolls it may not work in your favor next time. Good luck.

I don't know if it is the photography, the coins, or me but all the coins have a dull, lifeless, over dipped look about them. JMO

    Yeah, the roll is unsearched.

And my wife supports my coin collecting hobby.

Oh. When you wrote, "I paid $399 for the coins the OP listed," I thought you meant literally... as in you bought his coins. Sorry for my confusion.

Considering the name on the roll is bogus...

U.S. Trust Corp dates from 1853 and is now owned by Bank of America (2006).

There are lots of "First Financial" entities.

But no records the two ever cohabitated...

Some times it is fun to take a chance and gamble on something like this, so I get it. Fun times just in anticipation when opening something like that.
Given the spread of the dates, with no duplicates, you figure it was gone through at the time it was rolled, but what the hay, some times you just feel lucky and might have hit the preverbal jackpot.

These rolls are a known fraud/scam. The end coins have been found in completed eBay sales before the roll was listed, definitive proof that the rolls were assembled
