Okay.. Please bare with me on this one.. I have a pic of 10 1943 steel wheat penny's that were in a roll.. Daddy had one put up.. Daddy's weighs 2.9 grams.. it sticks to a magnet.. I don't know if it is some type of composition mixture.. I don't know how to clean it up.. it has some yellow and copper colors on it so I wondered if it was struck as soon as the change to Steel was made.. But, I never had a chance to really look at why he had this one out separately.. The date is doubled.. BER is doubled and the reverse is doubled.. The wheat leafs are not the same size.. I enhanced the pics so the coloring may be a bit off.. but if you hold it in the light it still has a little shine to it.. That amazed me.. Sorry so long..
Just a well worn "steel" cent with environmental damage. I have hundreds that look pretty much the same. Isn't it nice that Dad's collection is being appreciated twice? Once by him and now again by you. Thanks for the post.
