Thought this was pretty neat. Pulled it out of circulation a while back and figured I'd hang onto it since I never ran across another one. Seems like someone stamped a profile of Kennedy next to Lincoln on a 1973 penny.

Not so unique. There are many of them around with varying stamps.

That's the Kennedy looking at Lincoln Counterstamp Cent. These types of Cents are known as Novelty Coins. You can order just about any type from numerous Internet companies.

Sure, it's fun, particularly for a circulation find. These were heavily advertised when I started collecting in 1976.

Welcome to CT. They are fun and there are a lot of them out there. Some members collect them. Watch for them. I save all of them I see.

Boy, I didn't think I'd get that many replies. Thanks for all the info you guy's. I just never heard of or seen these coins before. If I run across any more I will treat them like Bicentennial Quarters and save them just for the heck of it.

Yep, I have seen at least seven different Kennedy head punches. (different sizes and style of the head punch)
