This question might have been rolled around before. Does the Wizards in this forum know what a Franklin 1/2 Buggs Bunny is? To the life of me I haven't seen this on the auctions. Hep me.
It is a double die error of the 1955 Franklin half that gives ole Frankie the Buggs Bunny Ears look. It is a very strong double die error. Imagine a Franklin with long rabbit ears.
It is know the most on a 1955 Franklin when a a place on the die looks like he has Buck Teeth. It can be found on other dates but they are rarer than the 1955. Mine had to be cleaned because of damage and now it looks bad...I'll be looking for a new one soon....just don't use AceTone on coins. Speedy
Well you're right about the teeth Speedy - old Ben looks like he has buck teeth - that's why they call it the Bugs Bunny. And it was caused by a die clash. What appears to be buck teeth are actually the tips of the eagle's wing from the reverse.
LINK (click here) Sort of looks like his front teeth are sticking out, doesn't it? This variety is known for 1951, 1954 and 1955 issues, with the 1955 being the most common.
