I turned the second photo so the Counterstamp is easily readable. This is an 1846 Large Cent and it's Counterstamped McKenny Gunsmith Biddeford. I find Counterstamped very interesting and one must admit that it was free advertising. I'm told this is a rare Counterstamp.
I live near Biddeford. Always liked going there because the youth hockey team sucked so I got to have fun. That's back when I could still play
It would be a little better if the owner used the cent for target practice after... Actually, maybe he tried but was just a lousy shot and missed... Who knows?
