It's a double die and a die deterioration double Verity makes it hard to find the 79 P double die however everything to the right is the same height they're not flat. Almost like it's part of the number except it's not. It looked like it on Wexler.

expat Remember you are unique, just like everyone else

Your images show the DDD. The true doubling is listed on Wexler as being on the upper letters of America and United

Say that tounge twister a few times..

I know you are new to this and I want to help. Get to know what true Doubled Die varieties are and what worthless doubling is before you start searching for Doubled die coins. The majority of stuff you will find in circulation are just worthless doubling which have nothing at all to do with true Doubled Die varieties.

    Here is some information

    Way,
Every single doubled die variety has repeatable charateristics. Therefore every single doubled die variety has been cataloged except for new ones.

If you are looking for something that is known, then you look in the areas it's supposed to be present.

Doubled die is on the die, every coin struck with that die looks exactly the same and affects the same area or letters every time.

The best way to do this is to know what you are looking for and where to look.
If you take every coin and stick it under the USB microscope looking for anything, 99.9% of the time it's going to be die deterioration doubling or mechanical doubling because those types of doubling are very common.

Just trying to give you info so you're not wasting so much of your time looking for anything. Much easier to look for specific things.
I go though, sort by dates and mint marks, what I want to look at and get used to what I'm looking for (what dates and mint marks have vauable doubled dies) then I pull up the refernce and see if any of it is a match and move on to the next and immediately rule out anything that isn't known and cataloged.

If I have free time I may mess around with new coin or a couple years earlier and look for something new that hasnt been cataloged but again it's going to be a lot of DDD or MD.
