Looks nice. You have to be carefull, it's easy to get hooked on those Morgans.

The good thing about that is there are a lot of common dates you can pick up in MS pretty cheap. :thumb:

    Congratulations

(I wish I had a girlfriend with a Mother that gave me coins).

Label it appropriately as your first Morgan with the date. In 10 years you could easily confuse it with perhaps another dollar in your collection.

Also, if you are going to keep it in a 2x2 holder remember to push down those staples so they can't scratch other coins.

Nice 21! If you look closely at the 1921's you'll notice that it differs slightly from the older dates.

    Very nice coin.

Collect89 has offered you very sound advice. Get a pair of pliers and squeeze those staples down flat.

If you put coins into 2x2 holders yourself, might I recommend the purchase of a flat-clinch stapler? They cost around $20, but they will save you a great deal of heartache over scratched coins.

Congrats CoinCrave! I have recently started collecting Morgans also. It is an extremely exciting and educational experience so far. Just watch the mail order companies selling "GEMBU" silver dollars. Many are in fact polished EF or AU coins.

Very nice. Morgan hoarding has now been authorized, proceed to grab many of them.

Really nice coin and free too.
HOWEVER, let me warn you of something. And this is serious.
If a girl friends parents give you something that has been in the family for a long, long time, I would suspect they plan on having you around for a long, long time. Know what I mean? Now just how important is that coin to you?:secret::rolleyes:

That looks like a nice, original coin. Congrats! Perhaps someone can clarify what I am seeing on Liberty's neck: there looks to be a pointed structure there, I can't tell if raised or incuse-- a die clash? Optical illusion?

    AMEN!

It might mean keep the coin = keep the girl, but that may not be a bad thing.:kewl:

    Any way nice coin.
