1985 D Roosevelt dime broadstrike?

Is this a broadstrike? Can a broadstrike be double dies as well?

Nope. And no.
Doubled Die varieties have nothing at all to do with how it strikes a blank planchet.

Looks like simple Die Deterioration common on many Dimes.

Since a Doubled Die occurs during the die-making process, why can't a coin be a Broadstrike, which occurs during the striking process, at the same time?

 

Because I don't want it to be!

 

Would it mean that you would need an additional NGC box for Doubled Die/Broadstrike coins? Oh, I forgot! You don't do "Varieties".

 

While it is possible that a doubled die could be in the press when the collar fails yielding a broadstrike, it is very unlikely to occur.

looks like some dimes I get in change a lot, I gather they are minted from worn dies

 

The mid 1980s seems to be the worst time for dimes... Anyone know why? Been wondering for a while.
