Without pictures, no one is going to be able to help you much. Also, it's considered bad form to post two different threads about the same coin, so I merged your two duplicate threads.

It sounds like it could be a minor grease-filled die error, which is likely not worth very much, though they're interesting. But we can't tell for sure without seeing it. It could also be the result of damage.

This is the best picture I could get. My camera is not that good so I can't zoom in on it. So you just have to enlarge it yourself in order to see it. Sorry about that. I appreciate whatever help I can't get with it. Thank you so much. Linea

Your answer has been given. Worn die issue. The S on the Die was compacted with hard grease so it did not allow the S to form properly when the blank planchet was struck.. No premium for that.

Your wheat cent is worth about 2 - 5 cents depending on its condition.

So it's not considered an error penny?

Very minor issue. Collectors don't even bother with it because its so common on thousands of other coins.

So yes, an error of sorts, but only a very minor and common one, not worth any extra premium. It's still an interesting feature and a conversation piece, even though you aren't going to get rich off of it. ;)

And it's not a bad looking cent, from what I can see in the photos. It appears to be a full red BU (Brilliant Uncirculated, i.e. Mint State) piece, which would make it worth more than @paddyman98's assessment of 2-5 cents, simply by virtue of the grade, not because it's an error coin.

Numismedia lists an MS64 RD at $7.48 but doesn't list the other (lower) Mint State grades. Now mind you, I can't tell if that coin is in fact MS64 or MS at all, based on that single picture of one side, but if it is Mint State and that is full original mint Red, then it's worth a few bucks. Like $3-5-ish at retail, perhaps.

So not a lot- it's still a common coin- but certainly more than a few cents.

And though common in these later dates, I think Mint State Wheat cents are attractive and fun.

Yeah from the picture I'd say it's a sale for $2-$5 based on its condition. Not bad at all for 1 cent in my opinion, now you just need to find 200-500 thousand more of them and you're a millionaire!

You are so sweet. Thank you so much for the information. You've made my day. I now know that if I chose to sell my penny at this time I can expect to make 199 to 500% return on my money and that's a very good thing. I really appreciate you taking your time and letting me know this. Best regards, Linea

Minted by a worn die. Now add some grease and the coin will look like yours.
