I have recently found a 1988 Denver mint Jefferson nickel and it caught my eye by being very rough and hard to see. I later put the piece on a scale knowing that a normal piece for that year is 5 grams the piece that I have is less than 3 grams. Is there any information that anybody can tell me or ideas that anybody have? Bikerboy
could be acid dipped. Is it the same thickness and width? Pics would help out alot, may have to use cameras macro function (looks like a flower i think).
My calibers say that it is the same size with a tolerance of about +/- .001. I hope these pics can help. Bikerboy
either: acid job or Beach from a metal detector. I find a lot of these, the surfaces are worn away from rubbing against the sand. Post mint damage, no value.
