    Wow, Panzerman, another great gold coin. I've been trying to collect a few gold French coins, but I have nothing like this ... and at that grade.

    Yes, the Caranett Collection had some really choice MS coins. I was glad the "Tyrant Collection" guy was not bidding against me.....:D

    Very nice example indeed - congratulations, the detail in his hair is fantastic!

    I was also after a gold French coin in that sale, albeit one with a later date, but it went too high for me as I was trying to save funds for some outstanding and very rare minors in upcoming sales. I seem to have the need to try and complete impossible date runs :D

    Well done.
    Fortunately for you he is the Tyrant of the Thames and not Tyrant of the Seine ;)
    Never a good person to be bidding against - apparently going multiples of book grants you the role of underbidder, as I found to my cost (or not in the literal sense). :(

    His "Tyrants of the Seine" collection is still very impressive!
    Hopefully, he will not get into Tyrants of the Rhine/ Danube....I am big into the Holy Roman Empire/ German States.....
