I'd like to start buying some rolls from the U.S. Mint, in a pretty small quantity (perhaps two rolls per type each year).

    Any suggestions?

    hello and welcome
I usually just go to the local banks and sometimes they have uncirculated rolls. Just ask
I have never bought from the mint

What kind of rolls Todd? The mint currently offers rolls in dollar coins and half dollar coins. Statehood quarters were also offered. As for the other denominations, well, they just don't do 'em. Banks might just be your best bet.

(Sorry if this is a stupid question) But do you think one would have a shot at getting an uncirculated series of currency from a bank as well?

Sure, it just depends on what they have at the time you ask. I've often received whole stacks of bills with consecutive serial numbers - all brand new.

Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking the smaller denomination coins, so I'll check the local banks. I'm thinking about getting back into coin collecting and it's been years! so my first stab is likely to be just picking up some good rolls and maybe ordering some stuff from the Mint and just set it away.
