I have been buying coins of ebay lately so here are my most recent purchases. I got this Civil War halve because it was my birth year, and I got it for only 21 bucks. (Half of the redbook value) :high5: It has a really beautiful cameo. And here is my first morgan dollar, it is grade MS64 by NGC. The date is 1898-O. I got it for 20 bucks less than the numismedia value at $45.00 So what do you think about them? :goofer:
Nice 1995 Civil War Half in Proof Hello FreakyGarrettC, Thanks for sharing the photos. I have an uncirculated set of the modern commemorative halves & purchased each coin individually. I remember when I purchased my Civil War half. I bought it in uncirculated condition although I liked the look of the proof issue better. You apparently got a nice copy of the proof issue. Very best regards, collect89
I really like that civil war coin with the drums on the coin . I may purchase one for myself nice ultra cameo coin a wonderful work of art on obverse and reverse a splendid coin indeed. What is the red on the coin north did the cannon explode cool coin ? Thanks for showing Jazzcoins Joe
that Morgan looks like a keeper to me. that is a good strike for an O, although I don't know how common that is for a 1898 Ruben
Cool so you have every uncirculated modern commemorative half? Thanks. Oh no that is the reflection of my red chandelier. Yep. Thanks! :high5: 1898 had a pretty good strike that year. That is why I picked that year. Thanks.
Yes, I have been buying the halves in uncirculated condition. I purchased some directly from the mint & some were purchased aftermarket. The last one I bought was the 2008 half. I bought it at the 2008 ANA summer seminar YN auction. Have you considered going to the ANA summer seminar? YN's can get full scholarships which covers essentially all the airfare, food, lodging, & classes. I'm sure that some of the other CT people can provide more detailed scholarship information to you. Very best regards, collect89
The ANA summer seminar is quite different than going to FUN. The seminar is more like going to college (coin college). It is held at Colorado College. Most everyone eats at the college & stays at the dorms. YNs and senior collectors (from all over the world) all take the classes together. The YNs basically hang-out & do stuff together when they are not in class. Recognize that everyone there including the other YNs are coin collectors just like you. Also, the ANA library & money museum are right there. Go to this Website to learn more about the scholarship opportunities which are still available for this year. www.Money.org http://www.money.org/Content/NavigationMenu/NumismaticEvents/SummerSeminar/default.htm

Bummer, but she hot? j/k I just got thinking, 3-4 months with an injury is one thing but an allergic reaction sounds like no fun at all. I'm sure you will be glad to get back to a normal routine.
