I just sold my first item on ebay, yesterday. received payment as soon as he committed to buying it, and there was no hold. A delay from paypal to my bank account, said it will be a week or something, but that's the only delay.

    snaz,

If this new Policy is across the board for all Sellers, then it may take awhile to get around to affecting every Seller! There is always a delay when transferring funds from PayPal to your' Bank Account which is expected.

I may list some items in the near future on eBay but the first time that PayPal puts a hold on one of my payments, then I will be done with eBay! I did not work as hard as I have to have a Score of 436 with 100% Feedbacks to be treated in such a manner!

I agree with you this is not a good policy. I just noticed that statement from ebay under payment options when I listed an item which I had not taken notice of until I read this thread.
So, it is their policy to hold 'some' payments, but what is their criteria for holding a payment? Is it a random QC thing.
Again I do not care for the policy and think it is a bad business practice. I will not be happy if mine gets held even though this is not my living.

Ya know I could see this if a seller/buyer for example have poor feedback. Then maybe I could stomach this. But as Frank stated, he has 100% feedback. The seller I purchased from does as well and yes I do too. Maybe it is a hit and miss QC kinda thing who knows anymore.
