I'm curious generally where it was dug (town, state), as far as how far it circulated.

I live in Connecticut. In a town called Eastford. It was found near a cellar hole. Also, found a rusty 1895 Liberty head nickel in the same hole about 8 inches down.. Probably not very circulated before dropped.

It's on my bucket list to find one metal detecting!
My buddies in my Metal Detecting club have found them but not me :(
This year I found 6 Barber Dimes. I know there has to be a beautiful Barber Quarter somewhere! :wideyed:

It certainly appears not to have circulated much. Interesting that it made it all the way to CT. It's Reverse II, which was quickly implemented supposedly because the original didn't stack properly. Great find.

When I was about ten years old, I thought the obverse Barber design was a Roman gladiator.

Not a very feminine design of Ms. Liberty.

So, you are not the only one to think the obverse Barber design was a male.

Yep, 1793 to date, including gold. I am down to expensive and some I will never acquire regardless of grade, like pre-1834 gold and 1796 quarter. But I assuage my grief by expanding my type set to include pre-federation and colonial.

Surprisingly difficult to acquire nice examples of some things, like 1873-4 with arrows quarter and half dollar.
