I'm saying forget what the op says how it happened, clearly that is wrong (no offense meant).

Let's look at it as a fill die dropped letter, prestrike.
it falls out and on top of the unstruck planchet and gets struck into the surface.

Is there a possibility of this? Now I know on the field, there isn't much metal movement, the R would stay as an incused R, but on a device, especially a deep device such as Washingtons head, wouldn't it move with the metal flow?

let's forget the rim, let's forget every letter of IGWT except for the R. not it? Not
possible? it won't always be an exact match, because in a lot of cases a dropped letter will get "smashed" in the strike.

This lower D looks raised in the picture, it's not though it's incused. Die lettering was at least partially filled between "pende"

Occam's Razor Says the simplest answer is most probably the best answer. Here I see a whole bunch of junk scratches that can look like something someone who is wanting to find something thinks they see. Simply put you are seeing a lot of scratches caused by everyday carry in your pocket, worth. .25 cents

...as (correctly) identified previously: damage on the chin from the edge of another reeded coin, most likely some other quarter. I call them “sea gulls” cuz they look like a child’s drawing of a bird and the damage is incuse, no part of any additional strike.

The other bad news: the reverse at the leading top edge of the drum (high spot) has had the spindle caps worn off...enough normal wear to render it chump change. As in: a spender. I returned about 40 of these back to circulation 2 years ago because of this type of wear. The ones I kept (maybe 12 or so) had slight wear but spindle caps present.

    IMHO...Spark

What an exciting find. Let us see it when you get it authenticated and slabbed.

It had the full word TRUST before, what happened to the other letters? https://www.cointalk.com/threads/bicentennial-with-trust-accross-the-chin.368208/#post-4940873

I find it strange that the OP hasn't chimed in at all. Troll?
This is one he should spend the money on to get authenticated. Please post the results once it is back from the TPG.

It's only worth a quarter or twenty five cents. I can buy full rolls that have been saved since they were minted for $15.00.
