I am super excited to find out whether or not I have a rare 1982 copper covered zinc small date doubled die reverse! I've been holding on to two coins and just haven't found the time to take pics and put them online. I've been anticipating it to the point where I won't be too disappointed if I'm wrong, just relieved to have an answer finally. By the way, I would like to add that most of my post from here on out is simply rambling and became waaay longer then I expected. So this is my disclaimer and it wont hurt my feelings if you stop reading here and head straight to the bottom to see the pictures I attached I guess I'm going to do this by making two posts separately. 1 post for each coin and maybe I'll get lucky with positive feedback! I would very much appreciate if any of you could give me advice, thoughts, criticism etc. So here is one of the two. I would like to mention that taking pics of coins from all angles and finding the correct lighting it's not as easy as it seems! Lol, I really feel like it's all about the lighting. Anyways, I was referring to the pictures on variety Vista and so I did take quite a few pictures (which if you've read any of my past posts, that's really nothing new (lol) ) I tried mimicking how variety vista has close ups from all angles. I did my best attempting to do the same. I've read over many other posts over the past year or two, as well as the different responses others left, and there have been two or three that I remember that commented quite negatively on the person's post and the pics they attached. Some people can be pretty harsh! Lol, I was taken aback by a few mean people. Since then I'm always wondering in the back of my mind the whole time Im ever creating a post of my own. I worry that maybe Im going to get chewed out by someone that's super picky and insists I shorten my post/pics. But then after going back and forth in my head I always come back to what I really believe I should do. My pics aren't always the best with the focusing or zooming in so quite honestly I'd rather overdo it and make sure people see what I see instead of not posting but two or three pictures and lack capturing that one angle that makes it a dead giveaway for someone to confirm. Am I wrong in thinking this? Alrighty, well thank you for letting me ramble. Lol, I feel like this has been almost like my morning journal entry of the day. Please let me know what your thoughts are about this coin!

So im not trying to sound like im belittling anyone's answer on here. I know im no pro and want more then anything to learn more and be confident when i think ive found something. I really appreciate everyone responses too. I am very confused now tho. I know I dont have the best pic and wonder if that has anything to do with it and if it would change anyone's opinion but take these 3 pics for example. I took 3 of my pics from above and I zoomed in and traced literally on top of every single exact lines im seeing and drawn a few arrows at where I thought I was seeing splits serifs then compared it to the ones from that website one of u were kind enough to add on here. If yall could just zoom in and compare these 3 to my original 3 up top and let me know if u see what im talk in about or not and if so then if someone could please explain if they do, y it wouldnt be a doubled die? And if its just mechanical doubling then why because ive magnified closely personally on the actual coin and i feel like, tho its not perfect line beginning to end clean cut like those pics, I do not see any shelving. It seems to all be raised the same to me. Especially on the "N" in one for example. I feel like how the ends are also, that seem to be like what I thought they were suppose to be to be considered a doubled die. Its hard to see i do know unless zoomed in properly and that messes with the quality on these pics. I'd give just about anything for one of those magnifying contraption things lol that actually plug into the computer. That would be sooo much easier

These where a few new one I took with a mag ifying glass over my Phil e lens while using my magnifying app. The lighting is terrible but I was able to get the and angle right to show the sitting and line right that im talking about. I hope it might help

Don't worry about taking pics with too much magnification... Just take clear pics and then the viewer can zoom in on their own... ~Rob

the E PLURIBUS UNUM is very distinctive in the DD. So visually extreme that it should be looked at first. If you don't see it there I don't think the rest matters much. And yes, you'll have to learn to take better images, with (a) better non-direct lighting (b) in focus object. Throw out each and every one until you get it right. Most of the time ppl have their camera too close to the object and the lens cannot focus. Or they have some busy background where the Automatic Focusing tends to focus on something easier that has a lot of contrast, which isn't the coin. So best to use a plain white or black sheet of paper for the background. if the image comes out grainy it's usually from too much electronic zoom or very poor lighting. "poor lighting" for the camera sensor and not your eyes. Add more "indirect" lighting then. If you provide "fuzzy, grainy images" then you can expect "fuzzy, grainy answers".
