1994 P Matte Jefferson Nickel Price Change?

Good evening everyone, just had a question and wondered if anyone here is more "in the know" about this subject...

Was in a LCS today (Pennies, Pounds, and Pesos in Media, PA) and the owner showed me a new Red Book with a significant price jump for the 1994 P Matte Jefferson Nickel (up to $100 in 65 I believe, outpacing the 1997 P, which was still at $75 in 65.)

I've checked the PCGS Price Guide ($55 in 69), NGC US Coin Price Guide ($85 in 69), Numismedia FMV Price Guide ($76 in 69), and prices are still where I left them, with the 1997 P Matte (with the significantly lower mintage) still at least double in value by most references.

Is this just a Red Book thing? Typo? Does anyone know why they are saying the 1994 is more valuable than the 1997? Is there a sudden rush in demand for them?

(Note: Fully understand that the Red Book is printed a year early and is at best a reference point. It just doesn't make any logical sense to me.)

    Thanks

I'd think this year's W nickels the mint produced might have something to do with an increased demand for the 1994P matte finish since it's the more accessible one of the two if someone wants an example.

Still though they sell for like $30 on ebay for SP69. No idea why they'd list a 65 for $100.
Are you sure you were looking at the right listing?

Yep, saw it myself (he showed it to me.) I couldn't understand why. I literally just bought the entire set for $25 less than a month ago (which was a great deal, I'm aware, but still...) Graysheet only showed the set at like $35 last time I had one.

I checked. It was listed in the 2019 rebook in MS65 for $100 also. MS63 was $50.

Clearly they are wrong and never changed it. Lol.

I have mostly found that redbook prices are never close to actual market prices.
