found out about this on the 8th and thought it was a hoax, apparently not. Coin world confirmed it today at 11 AM. the people at the mint done lost their minds!

youve been warned, website prices are still the same, so if you wanted to buy but waiting, they are about to price it all up.

for those that don't like links, the u.s. mint is rasing prices on silver containing items.
The remaining 14 price adjustments affect these items:

➤ America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof set, currently $46, will climb to $60.

➤ Proof American Eagle 1-ounce silver dollar, currently $64.50, will climb to $73.

➤ Uncirculated American Eagle 1-ounce silver dollar, currently $54, will rise to $67.

➤ Proof American Eagle 1-ounce silver dollar, Bulk Pack (bulk packs are 40-coin options offered at discount to dealers), will be raised to $2,920.

➤ American Eagle One 1-ounce silver dollar, Bulk Pack, will be raised to $2,680.

➤ Limited Edition Silver Proof set, was $149.95 for 2019 set, will climb to $201.

➤ Silver Proof set was $63.25, will rise to $105.

➤ Uncirculated America the Beautiful 5-ounce silver coin, currently $178.25, is boosted to $229.

➤ Proof End of World War II 75th Anniversary American Eagle silver coin, goes on sale Nov. 9 with first pricing at $83.

➤ End of World War II 75th Anniversary 1-ounce silver medal, first pricing, $75.

➤ 2019 America the Beautiful Quarters Silver Proof set, was $36.95, climbs to $60.

➤ 2019 American Liberty, High Relief silver medal, currently $99.95, climbs to $175.

➤ 2019 Congratulations set, released at $56.95, increases to $75.

➤ 2019 Silver Proof set, released at $54.95, increases to $105.

I supposed U.S. coins forum is the best place for this. If not, I suppose the moderators can always move it to where they like it! lol it kind of also hits on commemorative coins too.

Ouch!! That is not an inconsequential increase at all.

I agree, but it's the silver proof sets and the high relief 2019 that are $50 increases and straight up crazy talk.

Maybe this price increase will result in low mintage rarities.

Most everything silver on the mint site is sold out right now. you can still get the 2020 1 oz ASE. 2019 silver proof sets sold out.
Suppose this had anything to do with silver going up $1.33 today?

The only thing I’m interested in is the end of WWII silver Eagle proof. And I’m less interested in it now.

Someone over at the CU site said — without attribution — that the WWII gold Eagle proof with mintage of 1,945 will be $8,000. True or false?

Edit: False. Presale on eBay is $8,000.

Despite evidence to the contrary, I can read!

I've got about 8 items that I want to get. On November 13, the 2020 ASE-S will be released. I have it in my enrollment. I will still get my annuals, but I am staying away from the End of War coins/medals and the Mayflower sets. No price is set, but with gold AND silver jumping around, I'll stick to my annuals with the mint and look at ebay and Mount Vernon for anything else that strikes my fancy. Retired state employees can't afford gold luxuries and many silver items.

I guess they are hoping the coin collecting community will pay down the national debt. Totally ridiculous to raise prices by that much!

I stopped being interested in mint coins two years ago and any chance of future interest just got weaker. Thanks for the post

Yet another reason for me to not buy anything from the mint. Too bad.

$25 / $15 = 67% hike in silver spot price - the Mint products are increasing in price as well, some more, some less, some the same (silver proof set).
It's better to be holding $15 silver now than buying it at $25

PMs will drop to previous levels when things stabilize after pandemic...will the Mint reduce the prices then? LOL!

I doubt it. I've learned over the years that when stores raise prices, they get used to the income. Let's hope grocery stores don't get the same idea.
