24-S opinion? All the cents in my Dansco album are brown-ish & AU-ish including the 14D, 22 and 55/55. I'm probably going to put this 24-S in the book. I grade it a middle of the road AU but with an exceptionally good strike. Comments? Very best regards, collect89
You have no clue how long I have been looking for that guy's baby brother. That is one very tough coin to find. Congratulations!
Great Lincolns on this page To "Senior Member", the 1974 D looks like a 67. If not for the the obverse nick toward 9:00 and one or two slight reverse marks it would be a 69? INMO. Great coin! 1915 D from RLM's Cents looks 65+ and has a PL look. Beautiful color with excellent strike, details. I'll post some more this weekend. Keep em going!
VG-10, but it might get a 12. However, you need to take care of that stuff on the "WE". Try some acetone. Hopefully that will remove it.
RLM, for the reason you stated above I have been unmotivated to send too many coppers to NGC. Their criteria for RB seems silly and their grading has been too conservative. That's a beautiful coin. I just sent 7 coins to PCGS most 64's or higher in my opinion. Will post once they come in: 1930, 1929 D, 1924 D (prob AU 58), 1927 S, 1928, and 1911 S (MS 62?)
I just sent mine in to PCGS and they came back BB'ed. Some I understand, but some make no sense to me. See the thread I just started.
I would have to guess it would get a 64. It might stretch to a 65 if those scratches are less obvious in hand. None the less, a nice coin.
I think it's a F - good coin. I have one similar cond. Personally would soak in mineral oil and use a rosethorn and get that bugger out of the WE. If you have never done do with common cents first that are similar to yours in terms of the goo in the writing on the coin. Just MHO.
