Pretty sure that this has been dipped, but the details are great. I'm struggling to ID the VAM. It seems that most varieties of the 1879-S have a broken upper right in the letter R of "in god we trust". This one, however, is intact, while the T is chipped.

The o in dOllar has something going on that I suspect is PMD. Or is that a die break that I just haven't found listed?

The broken 'r' of trust is only on the reverse of 78. After the new hub was introduced, there was no broken 'r'.
