While not the rarest Domitian denarius from the first issue of 82 CE, it is not exactly common either. Just 3 on Acsearch and 3 on Forum. I really liked the youthful portrait of Domitian in his second year as Augustus. The Minerva that appears on the reverse was to become commonplace in Domtian's reign. Personally I like the Minvera holding victory type better which occurs on RIC 99.

The other reason I bought it was because I did not have one. It pays to browse the unsold lots from the auction houses that have held recent auctions. I am personally amazed at the interesting coins that many people have not found interesting or even worth an opening bid. Also, if you do browse for undiscovered gems make sure to check the results from the auction. Some do not advertise that a coin is available. If you catch them in the first few days you might just grab a bargain. With these auction sites you need to send an email inquiry asking if the coin is still available. Sometimes it is and sometimes they will not sell someone an unsold lot because of standing orders from a consignor. All they can say is no.
